The objective of this paper is to measure technical efficiency of farms in northern Tajikistan, and to identify determinants of in/efficiency.The total sample constituted 418 Merchandise randomly selected farm households from three districts.Using VRS input-oriented approach in Data Envelopment Analysis and Tobit model, the study has found out that farm indebtedness and limited access to extension services negatively influence the efficiency level of farm households.
